In a report published on May 1, the National Association of Home Builders provides an estimate of the impact on the U.S. economy of single-family residential and multifamily construction.
Each single-family home construction project in the U.S. generates the equivalent of 2.97 full-time jobs, according to a report by NAHB. The average U.S. home also contributes $162,080 in wages and salaries to the U.S. economy. In addition, every $100,000 spent on home remodeling generates $48,212 in wages and salaries.
