Georgia Gulf Corp. reported a slight operating gain during the third quarter to $14.7 million from $14.3 million a year earlier thanks to lower raw material costs, the company reported Tuesday. Segment sales slid 6% to $246.2 million for the same period due to lower U.S. sales volume; third-quarter building products' sales include $4.6 million attributable to a fence product line discontinued in March 2012, without which the company saw a net sales gain of 4%.
