US LBM's Wallboard Supply Co. announced today it has acquired Poulin Lumber of Derby, Vt. Poulin will retain its name, and Poulin President Cory Poulin will maintain day-to-day operations with his team.

Founded in 1936, Poulin Lumber has four locations in central and northern Vermont. It sells engineered wood and wall panels, drywall, flooring, insulation, roofing, moulding, windows, doors, fasteners, tools, and kitchen and bath cabinetry and fixtures.

Ryan Filion, executive vice president of Wallboard Supply, said in a statement that Poulin "will work closely with Wallboard Supply to better service customers and create synergy in the Northeast markets.”

"The local partnership with Poulin has given Wallboard the opportunity to expand the product line and take that into other areas of New England," Filion said in an email to ProSales. "Poulin has created a long and trusted name in their current market and we will look to expand on that similar to what we have done with WSC over the years."

Until this deal, Wallboard Supply had only one location in Vermont (in Williston) to go along with operations in Londonderry, N.H., Braintree, Mass., and Portland and Hermon, Maine.

With the acquisition, US LBM now claims 193 locations in 24 states. On Sept. 28, its Rosen Materials operation acquired 17-unit CEMEX USA. (See other recent US LBM deals.)
