Central Network Retail Group (CNRG) added Town & Country Hardware, a Chapel Hill, N.C.-based hardware store chain, as a new partner by acquiring its operating assets. CNRG also added Craig Ward, president of Town & Country Hardware, to its board of directors.
Town & Country Hardware operates eight locations in Chapel Hill, Cary, and Raleigh, N.C. The company caters to an affluent customer base and operates well in suburban settings and markets.
“Craig and his team add a lot of expertise to CNRG while also adding a new market area for us,” said Jimmy R. Smith, CNRG’s chairman. “Craig will drive our growth in the Carolinas as well as help us improve assortments focused on the affluent and female consumer. This furthers our goal at CNRG to grow profitably by partnering with solid retail operators and expanding into new areas and with new retail formats.”
With the addition of Town & Country Hardware, CNRG now operates 35 home centers and hardware stores in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and North Carolina under various names. The company was formed in May 2011.
