Beacon Roofing Supply bet again on Colorado today with its acquisition of Statewide Wholesale, a 32-year-old roofing products distributor that--significantly for Beacon--has one location on Denver's south side.

The acquisition gives Beacon at least eight facilities in Colorado's capital city, but only its second location south of downtown. (See map.)

"Combining Statewide with our existing Roof Depot and new RSG branches gives us an unmatched footprint in the vibrant and fast-growing Denver market, and Statewide's strategic location gives us an even better ability to more efficiently serve customers on Denver's south side where there is strong commercial and residential development," Beacon CEO and President Paul Isabella said in a statement.

Statewide Wholesale is the third acquisition that Beacon has made this month. On Dec. 18, it announced the purchase of Dallas-based Roofing & Insulation Supply, a 20-branch, $70 million company operating in 13 states from New England to Texas and Colorado. And on Dec. 1, Beacon bought RCI Roofing Supply, based in Omaha, Neb., with five branches in Nebraska, Iowa, and Colorado.

Beacon now operates 360 branches in 45 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces. It ranks third on the latest ProSales 100, with sales in 2014 totaling $3.33 billion, all of it to pros. Beacon reported Nov. 24 that sales in its fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30 rose 8.4% from the year-earlier period to reach to $788 million while net income grew to $30.8 million from $24.2 million.
