Fred Langguth, the sales manager at Galehouse Lumber in Doylestown, Ohio, routinely sends hand-written Thank You cards and notes to contractor customers and homeowners who have allowed the building material dealer to profile them in its monthly newsletter. Langguth also sends notes to vendor partners that help sponsor some of Galehouse's annual events, such as golf outings and its winter products expo. "Who doesn't like a Thank You?" Langguth asks. "Everyone likes a thank-you card or congratulations. I keep doing it in business and in personal life."
