Stock Building Supply, which ranked ninth on the 2014 ProSales 100 list, opened two new structural component plants to serve customers in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., and the Salt Lake City metropolitan areas. The plants, which produce roof and floor trusses among other building materials, are located in Middlesex, N.C., and Salt Lake City, and span 36,000 and 60,000 square feet, respectively.
"The additional component capacity now available in North Carolina and Utah increases our total number of component plants to 15 and demonstrates our commitment to capturing and professionally servicing the increased demand for this strategic product category," said Stock CEO Jeff Rea.
The Raleigh-Durham plant joins existing store and distribution locations in Raleigh, Apex, Johnston County and Franklin County, N.C., to serve the Raleigh-Durham and adjacent North Carolina markets.
"Our sales and service teams are excited about this increased ability to provide local homebuilders and remodeling contractors with a market-leading structural component offering, which includes trusses,prefabricated wall panels, engineered wood," said Rick Vancil, general manager of Stock's Raleigh-Durham market.
The Salt Lake City plant, along with three other Utah plants, will also provide additional capacity for lumber and building materials distribution in the region.
