Three Wisconsin dealers are closing or already have shut facilities in the Badger State, various reports indicated. ProBuild is closing its Sheboygan, Wis., facility effective Dec. 31, the company confirmed. That's the same date that General Lumber will shut its Milwaukee facility, while Jim & Dave's Building Supply in West Bend closed on Nov. 30.

ProBuild customers will be served from the dealer's Lomira and Jackson facilities. "Eleven employees were impacted," a ProBuild spokesperson said in an e-mail to ProSales. "One outside sales person will remain in the market to serve existing customers."

A General Lumber employee confirmed plans for that company's closure. The West Bend newspaper reported that Jim & Dave's final day was Nov. 30.

ProBuild is America's biggest LBM operation, with more than 470 facilities nationwide. Both General Lumber and Jim & Dave's were one-store operations.
