Allied Building Products, the No. 4 company on this year's ProSales 100, announced on Nov. 1 three separate acquisitions that add eight facilities to the more than 175 it has already.

In rapid order, the the East Rutherford, N.J.-based company revealed it bought:

  • The Smyrna, Ga., branch of American Wholesale, a residential siding supplier. The Smyrna location will be managed by John Baumgartner, an Allied Building Products veteran, who joins the staff from New Jersey.
  • Pacific Source, a building materials distributor based in Snohomish, Wash., that serves Hawaii from branches on Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island of Hawaii.
  • Ivan Supply Co., a roofing and siding distributor with four branches in the city of Philadelphia.

Allied is a division of Oldcastle Inc., the North American holding company for Ireland's CRH Plc. It reported to ProSales total revenue in 2010 of $1.64 billion, 95% of it to professional builders and remodelers. Allied also reported having 178 facilities and 3,100 employees as of the start of this year.
