Joe Hardy, the 86-year-old founder of 84 Lumber, was married Saturday for the fourth time, various Pittsburgh-area media reported.
The reports quoted an 84 Lumber spokesman as confirming that Hardy married Rebecca Davis of Florida in a private ceremony at Nemacolin Woodlands, a resort south of Pittsburgh that Hardy helped create.
Hardy was married for more than 50 years to his first wife, Dorothy. They divorced in 1997, and Hardy married Debra Maley, an 84 Lumber employee who was then 26. They eventually divorced, and Hardy, at the age of 84, married 23-year-old Kristin Georgi. They filed for divorce that same year.
Today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette quoted Jeff Nobers, vice president of marketing and public relations for 84 Lumber, scharacterized as characterizing Hardy's new wife as "middle-aged." He declined further comment.
84 Lumber ranks fourth on the 2009 ProSales 100, with sales last year of $2.1 billion.
