About the Survey

The PROSALES 100 is a ranking of the nation's top residential construction suppliers and distributors that participated in the 2005 Annual Survey of Leading Construction Suppliers. Data collection for the 2005 Annual Survey of Leading Construction Suppliers commenced in January with an initial mailing to 300 companies. Firms on the mailing list had a baseline financial standing of $40 million in gross sales. In total, PROSALES received 154 forms for consideration. The PROSALES 100 rankings contain no estimations of gross sales, pro sales percentage, or any other data. All other chart data reported herein is inclusive of the PROSALES 100 only, based on the 95 percent of the PROSALES 100 companies responding to the survey in full. (Statistics from “The Next 25”, which charts the companies ranking from No. 101 to No. 125, were not calculated as a part of the PROSALES 100 results.) The 2005 PROSALES 100 represents full-line lumberyards, lumberyards with manufacturing capabilities, and specialty distributors that sell a variety of product lines to builders, remodelers, and contractors.
