Facility Openings and Closings

ProSales has been tracking building supply facility openings and closures since 2008.

Use the arrows to sort the information. For multiple sort requests, such as organizing the data first by state, then by city, and finally by date, work backwards – that is, sort first by date, then by city, then by state.

The footnotes (located below the table) contain explanatory information about the opening or closure. And for purposes of this list, an opening or closure is defined as being not only the act of starting up or shutting down a facility, but also all cases in which one company buys another and renames the stores. Finally, in some cases there was more than one facility at a single plant. In that case, this list regards the facilities as separate if the company that took action regarded those operations listed them as separate activities–a lumberyard and truss plant, for instance–particularly if those operations had separate mailing addresses.
