Home Builders Supply will add a second yard as it purchases a former Stock Building Supply location in Wilson, N.C.

"We have always viewed Wilson as an exciting and growth oriented city and we are looking forward to becoming a long-lasting partner in the community," Gary Blount, vice president of sales for Home Builders Supply, said in a prepared statement. The company already operates a location in Greenville and has been in business since 1948.

While terms of the deal were not disclosed, Home Builders said it is making "a substantial investment in the Wilson community" and remodeling the former Stock location. This is the latest chapter in series of acquisitions of former Stock locations since the LBM titan emerged from Chapter 11 earlier this summer.

"We view this opportunity as a win/win for both the customers in Wilson and Home Builders," said Terry Clark, senior vice president COO of Home Builders. "Home Builders has built their reputation by providing integrity, exemplary service, quality materials, and associate expertise. We will be able to provide all these resources and more as we continue our pursuit of earning the right to be the supplier of choice for the Wilson market. "

Glen Blackwell will serve as general manager of the Wilson location. Blackwell is a 30-year veteran and life-long resident of Wilson. The yard will also be comprised of associates from the former Stock location, the company said.
