American Builders Supply (ABS) appointed former ProBuild head Bill Myrick as its new chief executive officer, the supplier’s parent company, Blue Wolf Capital Partners, announced July 18.
“Bill is a well-respected executive in our industry and we are looking forward to working with him,” said Chad Barton, chairman of ABS. “His experience and business relationships will prove invaluable as we continue to grow in our core markets in Florida and as we expand into new end markets and geographic territories.”
Myrick has spent 30 years in the LBM industry. The majority of that time was at 84 Lumber, where he rose through the ranks to become COO. He later took the same position at ProBuild and in August 2010 was named CEO of nation’s largest lumberyard. He stepped down in July 2011 after the company went through a restructuring.
“ABS is well positioned to grow into a market leader in the building products industry and I am excited to lead the company through this growth and expansion,” said Myrick.
Sanford, Fla.-based ABS refers to itself as the largest independent supplier of doors, windows and trusses to homebuilders in Florida. An ABS spokesperson said the company expects revenues of $45 million to $50 million this year.
