ProBuild Holdings, the nation's largest LBM dealer, has appointed Russ Kathrein to the position of President of ProBuild's Northeast Region.
Kathrein will oversee all aspects of ProBuild's business in the 16-state region, the company said.
"Russ brings a wealth of experience to our team, both from working here at ProBuild as well as with other competitors in our industry," Bill Myrick, ProBuild Chief Operating Officer, said in a prepared statement issued this morning. "Russ grew up in our business and has done just about everything you can in a lumber yard. I know our employees will continue to benefit and grow from his leadership."
Kathrein has worked at ProBuild since 2007 as senior vice president of Operations for the South Central region headquartered in Tulsa, Okla. He has also held senior management positions for BMC West, Star Building Systems, and 84 Lumber Company.
Kathrein will report directly to ProBuild President of Market Development Joseph Todd. Todd previously served as ProBuild's Northeast Regional President and was recently named to his current position.
Todd has two decades of experience in the building material and home building industry. Prior to assuming his current ProBuild position, he was the executive vice president of the Strober-Haddonfield Group.
"I believe that it is every manager's responsibility not just to manage, but to provide leadership that motivates and inspires our people," Kathrein said. I look forward to working with the Northeast team of talented leaders to continue serving our customers."
ProBuild operates more than 470 yards and manufacturing facilities in 42 states. The Denver-based company ranked 1st on the 2009 ProSales 100 with total sales of $4.4 billion.
