The ProSales 100 typically focuses on size, but one can get a sense of various companies' efficiency--as well as the list's diversity--by ranking companies based on sales per employee and per facility. As part of our rollout of the 2016 ProSales 100 list, we look today sales per employee today. The results suggest that neither overall size nor business specialty guarantee a place on this list.
The top 10 ProSales 100 firms for 2016 as ranked by sales per employee includes drop-ship companies like Shelter Products and Idaho Pacific, specialty dealers like Beacon Roofing Supply and Allied Building Products, and fuller-service firms like Golden State Lumber and Buck Lumber. Some are in the ProSales 100's top five in terms of sales to pros, while others are in the bottom 10.
